RavenBrook.net has moved to a new server…

A couple of months ago I was researching web hosting providers for the History Museum for Springfield-Greene County after their current web host caused two site disasters in a row. The big complaints we had with them were 1. they didn’t give any notice prior to planned maintenance so we couldn’t be prepared to fix anything that software upgrades might break, and 2. they wouldn’t even own-up to the fact that they had changed anything or that the broken site was their fault even though I had plenty of proof that they had changed software and crashed the site. So as I went researching new web hosts I started hearing horror stories about my own web host. This caused me to dig a little deeper and find that 1. while marginally better in services than the museum’s current host, my own host didn’t provide any better service in the two major areas of complaint, and 2. I was being severely over-charged.

So with a little bit of difficulty, RavenBrook.net has now been moved to a new host. Who knows, maybe I’ll even get back into blogging because of it.
